Home of legendary victories – from Jochen Rindt, Niki Lauda, Alain Prost and Michael Schumacher – the Osterreich course in Spielberg Austria is steeped in history, having began life as a circuit for enthusiasts in the 1950s. As Austria’s passion for F1® grew, the purpose-built track was laid, hosting spectacular victories. The track has been redeveloped twice since, and is now known as the Red Bull Ring. The new 4.3 km layout is remarkable for its elevation changes (up to 65m from lowest to highest points) and just nine turns, making it one of the fastest races in the season.
