Job Title:

Domestic Sales Director – Qatar

Reports To:

Chief Revenue Officer

Direct Reports:

Direct sales team (Sales Manager, Sales Associates and Sales Coordinator)

External Relationships: Direct customers, Referral Agents, the Supreme Committee.
Internal Relationships:

Sales team, Sales Administration, Marketing, Finance, Legal, IT, HR, Senior Management, Project Management team, Production team.

 

Job Summary:

The Qatar Sales Director is responsible for the implementation of an effective domestic sales strategy aligned with the Company’s overall sales objectives for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ and related events taking place in Qatar. He/she will be overall responsible for maximizing domestic sales revenues through the development of direct customer accounts with existing and new customers, direct management of certain key customer relationships, as well as development and oversight of relationships with Sales/Referral Agents. The position will involve growing and managing the Domestic Sales Team to ensure effective performance and achievement of the Sales Target established for Qatar.

  

Key Accountabilities

Domestic Sales

  • Develop and implement the sales strategy for the Domestic market.
  • Develop the Domestic Sales Team structure and participate in hiring activities and decisions.
  • Manage and direct the Domestic Sales Team to achieve the overall Domestic Sales Target in Qatar and establish short and long-term sales strategies and targets for each member of the team.
  • Prepare action plans for each Domestic Sales Team member to identify domestic sales leads and prospects and ensure that each team member meets or exceeds all activity metrics for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals, and sales targets.
  • Coach and develop the skills of the Domestic Sales Team to better equip them to sell FWC Hospitality Packages to the Domestic market.
  • Initiate and coordinate development of action plans to penetrate the Domestic market and recommend sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Build a solid direct and referral agent Domestic sales pipeline and develop new leads and opportunities.
  • Create and conduct proposal presentations to customers, sales agents, referral agents and staff.
  • Maintain contact with key customers in the Domestic market to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and full understanding of market trends.
  • Provide timely feedback to senior management regarding sales performance.
  • Maintain accurate sales records and activity reports.
  • Control expenses to meet budget guidelines.
  • Work closely with Marketing and Production teams to ensure customer requirements are met on a timely basis.

Stakeholder Management:

 Maintain sound professional relationships with Qatar-based clients, the Employees, Supreme Committee, Q22, FIFA, Host City municipalities and other officials and stakeholders relating to the Official Hospitality Programme.

 

General
  • The candidate will act in compliance with MATCH Hospitality contract terms, policies, and procedures.
  • Due to the nature of the business, the candidate will be required to work long hours and at weekends as required.
  • The nature of these events is such that it may be necessary to amend or add to the candidate’s responsibilities as we get closer to the event and the candidate may be required to perform any task that is allocated, specific to the projects at hand.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential Experience:

  • Experience (10+ years) in hospitality / leisure industry sales.
  • Experience in dealing with the hospitality / leisure industry in Qatar; able to demonstrate a firm grasp of the hospitality landscape and experience in dealing with top corporate and high-net-worth clients in Qatar.
  • Demonstrable list of former clients based in Qatar.
  • Prior experience in managing a team of sales professionals.
  • Prior experience in developing sales and marketing campaigns.

Essential Skills:

  • Leadership skills - ability to lead, manage and motivate a team of sales professionals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Presentation skills – ability to develop and deliver effective sales presentations and conduct meetings with prospective clients. 
  • Mandatory proficiency in Arabic and English (written and verbal); strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Flexible in a constantly evolving environment with good proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Strong administration and IT skills including Microsoft Office and CRM systems (Microsoft Dynamics, Sales Force, etc.)

Desirable:

  • Relevant University/ College Degree strongly desired
